Development ProgramsThe U.S. Virgin Islands Lacrosse Association is committed to fostering systematic and sustainable lacrosse development across all levels of participation in the territory. Through our comprehensive Youth and Recreation Programs, we empower young athletes ages 6 to 14 with safe, skill-based programming grounded in sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development. Our grassroots initiatives provide entry-level exposure through community clinics, school partnerships, and introductory leagues that prioritize inclusivity, fundamental technical instruction, and cultivating a lifelong love for the sport. By delivering free programming and equipment access across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John, the USVILA ensures that every youth has equitable opportunity to learn, grow, and engage with lacrosse while building community connections and individual resilience. The USVILA advances its mission through specialized pathways that develop adult recreational athletes and cultivate the coaching and officiating excellence essential to program integrity. Our Team VI Club and League programming provides competitive opportunities for adult lacrosse players while embodying the pride and heritage of the U.S. Virgin Islands on the international stage. Complementing this foundation, our Coaching and Officiating partnership training programs prepare leaders and arbiters who uphold the game's highest standards. These developmental functions—encompassing youth skill-building, adult competition, coach certification, and official training—ensure that the USVILA achieves its core mission of growing lacrosse at every level while establishing the territory as an emerging force in global lacrosse competition and cultivating opportunity for all participants. |
